Roy Lewis James

     Roy Lewis James was born October 26, 1949 to Bervin and Dorthe (Canaday) James. He passed away on December 2, 2023 at University of Iowa Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa at the age of 74.

     Roy graduated from Grant City High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army. Roy retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a Manager of Signal Construction.

     On August 17, 2001 Roy was united in marriage to Donnetta Beavers. She survives of the home. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Rita Olney and Pat Rose.

    He is also survived by children Tony (Hollie) James, Jessica (Matt) Flatt, Tabrey (Keith) Kimbrough and Kera (Dino) Galanakis; grandchildren Kennedy Galanakis, John Galanakis, Kendall Kimbrough, Kyler Kimbrough, Arenna Galanakis, Sam Flatt and Leo James; brother, Randy (Joni) James, sister Betty James and brother-in-law Duane Olney.

     Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Military Rites will follow service. Family and friends will gather at the clubhouse following the service.
