Mildred Dye Obituary

Mildred Irene Dye

Mildred Irene Dye was born February 24, 1921 in Worth County, Missouri to Michael J. and Zella Mae (Gates) Fletchall. She went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2020 in Stanberry, Missouri at the age of 99.

Irene was united in marriage to Bearl Cecil Dye on December 13, 1936 in Grant City, Missouri. To this union 5 children were born. Irene was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of the Family Worship Center in St. Joseph, Missouri and she loved working in her church. She so enjoyed reading her Bible and was such a prayer warrior, spending many hours too numerous to even count praying for all. She was so grateful for those that would stop by to see her at the nursing home, especially those like Brother Jesse and Brenda that would always pray with her.  Some visitors were blessed by Irene with a song on the piano.  She enjoyed playing piano, guitar and the auto harp and played them all by ear.  Irene was an avid baker, which was greatly enjoyed by many.  Her bread and cinnamon roll recipes have carried on now for a few generations.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 sons: Curtis Bearl and Michael George Dye; 5 brother and 5 sisters.

She is survived by children: Zella Norene Smith (Jesse) of Albany, Missouri; Larry Paul Dye (Kathy) of Maitland, Missouri and Shirley Ann Lynch (Randy) of St. Joseph, Missouri; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Irene loved each and every one of them greatly, and she was loved and adored by them as well.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Interment will be in Fletchall Cemetery in Grant City, Missouri.
