Doris Faye Rowlett, 97, of Hatfield, MO passed away on April 10, 2026 in Grant City, MO. She was born on October 3, 1928 on the family farm west of Hatfield to parents Lem and Edith Rowlett.
Faye graduated from Hatfield High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in education from Northwest Missouri State College.
Faye worked as an elementary teacher at Humboldt Elementary in St Joseph for 37 years. Outside of the classroom, she enjoyed jogging and traveling home frequently to work on the farm. After retiring from teaching in 1989, Faye moved back to the farm, where she and her brother Paul operated the farm together for many years. Faye especially enjoyed doing mechanical work, as well as tending to her sheep and cattle.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Verbeeck, and her brother Paul Rowlett. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Arrangments were under direction of Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, MO.
